Brett Wildeman Announces Release of Mother Earth & BC-AB Tour Dates
There are few better ways for a musician to develop artistically than performing, recording, and traveling. Brett Wildeman spent the last year doing all of the above.
Returning from a solo bike journey of 1,200 km on the roads of coastal USA, ukulele in tow, Brett then spent the next eight months sharing the stage with a medley of musical comrades, finally settling in on the Sunshine Coast to record ‘Mother Earth’. The album recorded at Strait Sound, is slated for release July 8th, 2013 via bandcamp & iTunes.
Brett’s sprawling lyrics, coarse voice, and moody guitar tones are the staples of his ‘raw folk’ sound. Childhood friend and musician James Law collaborated with Brett drawing out both the emotions and soundscapes of this new album.
Brett’s latest work ‘Mother Earth’ provides a stark contrast from the raw, airy feel of his earlier work ‘One Man One Voice Two Hands’ released in 2010, evidence of honing his craft and his evolving style.
Catch Brett on his upcoming tour of BC and Alberta in August.
